Yo he aprendido que estar en sintonía contigo mismo y lo que te rodea es más que saludable, es necesario, y eso viene no exclusiva pero principalmente cuando estás soltero - en mi experiencia. Es quizás este momento de tu vida una buena oportunidad para disfrutar de tu independencia, de toda tu libertad, de tomarte y dedicarte todo el tiempo que quieras para ti, pues como sabes, cuando se está en una relación el tiempo que te dedicas a ti mismo es poco. Decidí ya de joven que no quería tener hijos. No recuerdo el momento específico ni los motivos puntuales. Lo que sí recuerdo es que no pasé por un período en que me di cuenta de que quizá prefería no tener o que iba a depender de las circunstancias. Mi sensación es que supe enseguida que mi forma de ser y lo que quería para mi vida  no eran compatibles con criar chicos. Tuve la suerte de enamorarme de una mujer que pensaba igual que yo, la escritora Mariana Dimópulos, que el año pasado escribió en esta misma sección sobre por qué una mujer no desea tener hijos. Hoy lo hago yo, desde una mirada masculina. El tema debe haber sido  una de las primeras cosas que hablamos apenas nos conocimos . Lo curioso es que muy pronto yo sentí que mi amor por ella era tan fuerte que hasta hubiera capitulado a mi ideal y hubiera tenido hijos, si al final me lo pedía. Pero no lo hizo , ni yo tampoco cambié de opinión, pese a las increíbles presiones que sufre una pareja establecida a medid...

(Articulo de el diario  el pais ) Albert Camus escribió famosamente que todo lo que sabía sobre moral lo aprendió jugando al fútbol; del mismo modo, yo podría escribir que todo lo que sé sobre moral lo aprendí jugando al tenis. Lo curioso es que, a pesar de que lo abandoné a los 15 o 16 años por culpa de las señoritas, las novelas y la cerveza, sigo aprendiendo del tenis. O por lo menos de los tenistas. Mientras jugué al tenis, mi ídolo era Ilie Nastase, de quien aprendí cosas que nunca olvidé (“No hay nada más difícil que hacer fácil lo difícil”, decía más o menos Nastase, traduciendo a su modo y sin saberlo un dictamen medieval: “Ars est celare artem”). Ahora que ya no juego al tenis, mi ídolo es, por supuesto, Rafa Nadal; de él resulta difícil no aprender a diario. Tomemos por ejemplo su partido contra Djokovic en semifinales de Roland Garros, uno de los mejores que recuerdo.
